The visible staples aren't for gore; they are his frantic, DIY attempts to keep his scalp (and those pesky brains) from slipping. It’s a tragic, funny, and deeply detailed piece about refusing to let go.

• Frantic Stitches: Real metal wire staples are meticulously applied to mimic a self-administered, "it’ll be fine" patch job along the deep cranial cuts.

• The Brain Case: That glint of pink at the rim isn't food; it's a peek at what he’s trying to keep contained with those staples.

• Denial Glaze: A sickly, matte green glaze that perfectly captures the "I’m just a little pale today, I promise" aesthetic.
